3 day trip hell

I thought i would document what i do at work to pass the time haha. I love the look of the dessert cart and it always baffles me when the pax turn everything down so i normally offer it to economy - 'waste not want not' nana says.
Also i love the little messages everywhere on the a/c like the one thats up the front in business reminding us not to smoke during the meal service! It just makes me laugh thinking about taking the food/beverage carts out with a fag in hand and puffing away while asking chicken or fish?

On Friday we started a 3 day trip with 1 night in Dunedin and 1 night in Wellington - i was quite looking forward to it because Dunedin meant a sweet hotel date with my bf :) 3 day trips are normally ok with me, a little bit tired but nothing a good nights sleep cant fix.....unfortunatly our inflight manager decided to make our trip as busy as possible. By Sunday night i was close to falling asleep on landing! Instead of just doing the standard 2 bar services per flight, our flight manager decided that we were going to go bar cart happy without asking us how we felt.
I am completely fine with doing an extra bar service on longer flights (longer being 3.5 - 4hours) but when you have 100 pax on a 3.30hr flight i think doing 3 water runs and 4 bar services a little too much! Then theres all the rubbish runs, the toilet que, the dinging for more drinks....
I like my job i do but why make work harder for yourself and your crew? The pax will expect to have 4 bar services on flights when its not the norm. We ran out of beer, sauvignon blanc, bourbon, whisky it was just crazy! Pillow this, beer that i swear i was starting to get a facial tick from it all.
I would also like the time to apoligize AGAIN to Mr 25d. Im sorry you didnt get the fish! Does it really matter? Your wife got the fish, your daughter got the fish...you got the venison. Boo hoo. There are starving people all over the world and you didnt get the fish. The whole flight thats all i heard "well since i didnt get the fish il have another (insert request for pillow, blanket, water, red wine, red wine, red wine here).."
The only thing that made my trip better was seeing my bf on Friday night which included using the last of the free drink vouchers that the Dunedin hotel give us (They have canned it due to the recession :() The lovely japanese dinner he took me out to, our breakfast date and my Sunday night dessert. It wasnt just any dessert though... other desserts would orbit this dessert, bow to it even!
The ingredients are a mixture of economy class cookies and cream ice cream, crew tray brownie heated up with strawberries, business chocolate mousse cake with cherrys, almond biscotti from business. milo to sprinkle on top and 1 banana. The ultimate banana split! I then suffered an extreme sugar high which meant an extremley quick millionith bar cart run and then the low hit, i wanted to cry and sleep and eat more sugar....never again will i attempt such a beautiful dessert. Theres no telling what could happen next time.

  1. I know. I mean we like to give everyone their 1st choice, but sometimes, you'd think we were flying alongside a 7-11 the way they go on saying 'Just go get some more then'!

I want to say, kids are starving in Africa & you're complaining the lemonade is Schweppes not Sprite. (I think Sprite sucks, anyway)
